Spring is here and colour comes to the garden room potting shed in Mapleton. I have chosen a bold Mexican chilli pink that contrasts against the green foliage. I think it works nicely. Bill has yet to construct the bench inside and some Flexi doors that prevent wind and rain from coming in, however, the bulk of the work is over. Here’s what it looks like.
The collection of items sat waiting inside the house ready to style on the shelves made from rosewood. They all meet each other for the first time – old jugs, vases, ceramic birds and cast iron bunny, buckets and baskets.
The floor pavers will have sand thrown over them to keep the spaces compact. I have bought a sisal rug on line to cover the cold stone look. There’s a lovely window view and hanging baskets.
And my Garden Room would not be finished without some touches of art. I have framed these prints myself.
In the future I look forward to working on my bench, potting plants and entertaining some friends who can sit outside around a table with a cup of herbal tea. I am simply amazed at Bill’s handiwork and craftsmanship. Also there are oodles of ideas on Pinterest about cabins, garden sheds, women’s spaces and huts. Fun to scroll through for inspiration.

The pink brings out a new fresh, vibrant look that feels enticing to stick your head in through the door for a look. Love the bunny.
I think the bunny will delight the grand children. Thanks Joy.
It’s lovely Marg. Clever Bill…..negotiating all the possibilities with you along the way. Love the pink……great with the greens. A window with a view and all kinds of treasures that make the space your own. Better pop in for a visit, and a cuppa, as soon as I am free! xx
